If there’s one thing I’ve learned after years in the hotel industry, it’s this: guests see one world, while hoteliers see another—but the best experiences happen where those worlds intersect.

I created this blog because I’ve lived on both sides. I’ve been the traveler searching for the perfect hotel, and I’ve been the finance director ensuring that “perfect stay” is not only memorable but also profitable. Along the way, I realized there’s a significant gap between what travelers expect and how hotels operate.

I want to bridge that gap.

From Hungary to England to Austria: My Journey in Hospitality

My career began with a university degree in economics, specializing in the hotel industry, in Hungary. I’ve always been captivated by the business behind great hospitality—how hotels don't just provide a bed for the night, but create comprehensive experiences.

This curiosity took me to England, where I spent five years working in hotel finance. Some might think finance is just about numbers, but in hospitality, it’s about understanding the vital elements that drive a hotel's success—from how small changes in service can impact revenue to why some hotels thrive while others struggle. I chose finance because I wanted to dive deeper into what truly drives success in hospitality.

After five years, a new challenge presented itself: leading the Central European region in Austria, overseeing not only hotels but restaurants and membership clubs. Experiencing hospitality across multiple sectors has given me a richer perspective—because whether you’re managing a luxury hotel or a casual dining establishment, the principles of exceptional hospitality remain constant.
